I am Bill Richardson. I have a windshield repair business in Moreno Valley, CA. My city government says I am an automobile repair dealer/shop, therefore I can only repair windshields in an enclosed facility. I am registered/licensed as a mobile repair business and can only do the repairs at the customers home or business, not outside. I am told that windshield repair is exempt from State licensing, but the Bureau of Automobile Repair of California says I need a State license which also would mean I am an automobile repair dealer. Is anyone else in California, that does only windshield repairs, having the same problem? Any suggestions on how to get around this? Are there any regulations that says we are exempt? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
