The sand blast gun with brass letters is what we use. We discovered that we could use label tape stencils (made on an old Ideal stencil cutter bought off of eBay) instead of changing the brass inserts to save time. The stencil cutter is too heavy to carry around, that's why we require an email list the day before we service a dealer.

Can you tell me more on the label tape stencil? I am intrested in that idea. I have the GT vin etch system also.
I guess I can say I have the VP-5000 repair sysem, the Automark vin etch, and now the scratchhog II that I am working with.. the hog seems like it is going to do the trick... Now all I have to do is learn how to use it better. I am amazed what I could remove today....
