Re: windshield nicks
No, if you are concerned as to the well being of your windshield I recommend that you consider the following;
JAC ("If you were in my State, I would fill the nick with pit resin. Then cure the resin until it's hard. Then shave the spot down with a razor until it is level with the windshield. Then polish with pit polish. As I said earlier, there would be a tiny spec there, but it would definitely not catch on the wipers or your scraper after being razored down and polished.")
We too provide this service.
Clarity Glass ("look very closely to see if there is a fine crack or if you see black in the chip. If so, then it needs to be filled by a repair tech. If you see no crack or black most likely it's what we refer to as a "pit" and will not spread in either extreme heat or cold. I will fill a couple of these free of charge as a goodwill gesture to my past or potential customers.")
We too provide this service. We do it because if you pass your wipers across broken glass they will get cut and the streaking that results is a permanent situation unless rectified via repair, we do this as a complimentary service to the public. This is not a billable repair as you will find folks who are willing to submit an insurance claim for this service. That is fraud and for that reason as well as good will we provide the service at no cost. It is a very good opportunity to get some Page Ranking time to folks who would otherwise not attempt repair!!!
I gotta go or this post would be longer,
I'll follow up....
