Yes this work is being done on aircraft. As I have posted before the system we use on a limited situational basis is Micromesh, please do not think that you can run out and buy a kit and start making a fortune working on airplanes. FAR's(Federal Aviation Regulations) mandate that any and all work performed on aircraft has to be documeneted. That being said, are there small FBO's (Fixed Based Operators) with private aircraft owners that have maintenance done on there aircraft without proper documentation? More than likely. Should the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) show up you had better have proper documentation available.

If you have an airframe license, if you are employeed by a company with a repair station certificate you can work under or you do the work under the guidenance of a licensed technician who will sign your work off, then have at it. You do not need to have a powerplant license for this.

Oh, do not forget about insurance and liabity with this line of work!!!!

Should you persue this work, it is not hard to do but I suggest you CYA!

To add some credibility here, I am a licensed FAA Airframe & Powerplant technician for the past 18 years in the commercial aviation sector. "Work Hard, Fly Right".
