Yes, I hold it directly over the half moon.
Yes, before I try to fill it because there is no entry point to start with unless the pit can access the cavity.
I will repeat the process one more time, if that doesnt do it (rarely does it not work the first time) I pop it with the scribe if I dont see a leg coming off the half moon as I dont want risk spreading it,If it has a leg then I just drill it,I have found these types of legs coming from a half moon that doesnt reach the pit easy to spread,so I dont pop them), if that doesnt do it,I drill with a dental burr over the cavity, but that is rare. If it does become the case I end up with two pits, the impact pit and the drill hole, but it is rare that I dont get it with the drystar on the first attempt or definatly by the second attempt of the drystar.
