Re: referrals
I am just now working out a deal with a glass shop. They way they want to do it is have me bill the customer direct, and then I pay the glass shop...they will put it on my account.
With this type of setup, I am selling the service and am in control of pricing. I would basicly sub out the work to the shop. We are talking about a flat rate per windshield for me for most vehicles, so I know what to expect and what to tell people who ask "how much?" My cost seems very resonable... it's low enough that I should have no problem marking up $40-50 and still offer a good deal to the customer... fleet type prices.
The only snags in the plan would be if the glass shop does poor quality work, or won't guarantee/warranty their work. I sounds like this should not be an issue at this point.
I am going to have to get set up now to take VISA cards, because I assume most people will want to charge a $200 purchase... not cash. Anyone using a good credit setup for occasional work... one of the phone-in accounts?
