I would feel like you do and this would raise a CAUTION flag for me before dealing with this company.I also read the forum you are talking about.I would think long and hard about what I bought. Grace Gold Star has a very good post somewhere here on this forum where she had narrowed her decision down to 3 suppliers.If you will watch on eBay you can find some good deals on used equipment there all the time.Brian likes Delta, We like Glas Weld, Grace uses Gt, All are good quality. It is like Chevy and Ford. There are some bad ones also. Good Luck in your final decision and welcome to W/S/R.
