Police lights

I noticed today some of police cars in my area have the clear lights on top of their vehicles. Quite a few of them were yellowed and hazy like headlights become. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to restore those or if it is even cost efficient for the customer.

In most cases it is the officers responceability to take care of there car.. That is what it turned out to be in my town City and County cars... THey would have to pay out of pocket and the guys say they will do it them selfs.
Or the inmates do it with the car cleaning.

Most just need a good rub down.

I have just started a contract with our local police department to refinish the local police cruisers. I did 2 of thier cars yesterday. The Chief will look at them on monday. The Captain was impressed with the turnout and they may have me recondition the strobe lenses on top of the cars also. Those bars are about $1,000 new. Here I fill out an invoice, the captain assigns a PO number and then sends it to the comptroller for payment. The city pays every 2 weeks. I had compliments from a few officers while I was doing the procedure and a few said thier cars need it. In most cases with the city talk to the Captain or the Chief or ask the secratary who is charge of the maintenance for the police cars. Hope this helps.

I do a lot of Tailights on GM products there is something that makes em fade and discolor with age and hot sun that the othe mfgs dont have I just wipe em with the second step and then coat em with sealer they snap right back not sure but I would think the Police lights would act the same

Our police cars don't really have a tail light problem, it's more headlights and strobe lights that fade. Zach go after that market also...Emergency beacons are natorious for fading especially the yellow ones used by flag cars or oversized load escorts.

Obviosly the tailights on police cars are the same I was trying to say that they are the same colored plastic as tailights and it responds well to cleaning and a sealer coat bringing them right back to as new without sanding

You are right. I just had a request from one of my dealers to redue the backup lenses on a GM car. This is a first for me.

Do a faded tahoe or yukon for a customer and they will jump at it I do one so they can see the difference I charge $20 a pair they take 2 minutes to do
