Technique on larger combinations

Post by chipdoctor »

Got my practice windshield a couple weeks ago and created many combination breaks anywhere from a 1/2 inch to an inch in diameter. Attempted repairing many of these, but I'm finding it difficult to eliminate all the black on the very outside of the breaks. I tried increasing the amount of resin. I vacuum and pressurize multiple times, I even tried pumping the injector up and down, but whatever I do I can't seem to get it all out. Any techniques from the veterans that they would like to share?

Are the outside bits connected? a magnifying glass is a great tool for seeing detail. Are you flexing in the correct place, trial and error will tell you the best point.
