Anybody going to Vegas (SEMA - NWRA ) ?
The good old SEMA show is coming up fast. The NACE trade show and more importantly the annual NWRA conference and Windshield Repair Olympics are being held at the same time. You get a couple of great events at the same time.
Are there any forum members planning to go there?
Many people raise their voice here on the board when it comes to the NWRA or other matters. This is your opportunity to go there, to be more actively involved and share and discuss your ideas, experiences, worries and frustrations. It is a great event to learn and meet people.
Simply go to the NWRA website for more details.
Time ‘n Location Details;
November 5-6, 2009 Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas

Frank, will we see you at NACE? We used to have a booth at SEMA but did not find it that profitable the last year we attended so have not gone back. I would like to go again but just to see all the cars, not as an exhibitor. I gotta get me one of those motorized bar stools though, that is one big show to walk.

Re: Anybody going to Vegas (SEMA - NWRA ) ?
The SEMA show is one of the largest trade shows in the country, and THE largest automotive event in the country. If you like to look at cars and car related stuff SEMA is the place to be. http://www.semashow.com/main/main.aspx? ... m/HomePage
NACE is a very large automotive related trade show, but is mainly targeted to body shops and affiliated businesses. http://www.naceexpo.com/ind/landing.aspx
In recent years the NWRA has held a conference and trade show in conjunction with NACE. Naturally the NWRA conference is not all that big, and there are not enough vendors to make a very interesting stand alone trade show, so piggybacking with NACE helps build more traffic for vendors and gives windshield repair technicians and related business owners more reasons to attend. http://nwraassociation.org/ Sorry, I could not find a site dedicated to the conference in my quick search tonight.
The Windshield Repair Olympics is also held at this time right next to the trade show. The more competitors the better, so if you are that close you might think about throwing your hat in the ring. If you did not read the threads about the WRO from last year I can tell you that I was very impressed by the skills of all the competitors, regardless of the system used in the competition.
But the best reason of all to visit Vegas during this time is to meet Korey and me. Just look for the two best looking guys in the place and come up and introduce yourself!
We really do have a lot of fun there and it's always great to meet forum members whether customers or not. And of course it's Vegas, so there is always plenty to do outside of the trade shows. We always have trade show specials so be sure and look us up if you go. We really hope to see many of you there.

No problem Brent.
The event details can be found in the news section, hidden in the June newsletter.
Pages 4,5 and 6.

I know it is off topic but at the bottom of that page is a write up about divots and a picture of a smallish bullseye, which certainly requires repairing. I hope this does not confuse guys.

Re: Anybody going to Vegas (SEMA - NWRA ) ?
Thanks Frank.
Screenman, I noticed that too. Even from the blurred photo it is clearly a break that needs to be repaired, not simply a divot (surface chip). I can't imagine why they would use such a photo when the article is about repairing surface chips. The article about Canada's only supplier who offers training is a bit misleading as well. Clear Solutions Canada Inc. has been offering hands on training for years.
I'll send a link to this discussion to the NWRA so they will have a chance to print retractions in the next newsletter if they so choose. I'm sure these were just oversights and not attempts to deceive or confuse anyone.
