Can I edit my post?

Post by Brent Deines »

Can I edit my own post?

This is a question that has been asked recently. Yes, you can now edit your own posts for up to 60 minutes. After that it will be locked for editing. The reason being that if someone responds to your post and they you go back and make changes the topic may not make any sense.

The edit button will appear directly above the text box of your post on the right side.

After 60 minutes you will need to ask a moderator for assistance if you wish to edit or delete a post. We may not honor requests to correct misspellings and grammar errors due to time restraints, but if you have a good reason for editing or deleting your own post we will give it serious consideration.

Where is this edit button? I have yet to see it, even right after I make a post.

You're right! I thought we had that function working but I now see that it's still not available to anyone but moderators. Give me a little time and I'll see what I can do.

Give it a try now. Remember, you will only have 60 minutes to edit your post so you still will not see the edit button on your old posts...if I got it right this time that is.

Great, thanks for letting me know. Moderators see things other forum users don't so it helps us a great deal if you let us know when something is working and when it is not. We have always been able to see the edit button so until it was brought to our attention it did not occur to us that you could not.

To use a phrase from our friends across the pond ( Screenman), it now works a treat!
