Pit resin
Hi I am new. I just started working on customer windshields. I am coming accross old repairs where it appears the pit at the end of a fix was not filled or has come out. I am have been fixing these for the costomer. I have two questions. Should I be charing for this? It seems like a good service thing to do but I thought I would get some opinions. Second, what causes this? For myself I always feel the pit when I am done the job and make sue it is smooth. If it is not I put more resin on it and cure it again.

Re: Pit resin
I don't charge for resurfacing pits (cleaning them out, refilling with pit resin, curing, scraping and polishing). It only takes 5 minutes or so and builds a lot of good will. I don't necessarily think it is wrong to charge for your time but personally I feel there is more long term value in doing customers a favor from time to time.
