I cut TONS of lami in our shop and many, many times I have had the denatured alcohol eat thru the PVB before I had the chance to ignite it!!

what kind of alcohol are you exactly using? ethanol? isopropyl alcohol??

'alcohol' comes in many flavors. It is used often as a drying agent for other services (I am a carpet cleaner)

are we speaking 70/80 or 90% ?

Leaving a piece of PVB in a jar full of alcohol is not really a meaningful scientific experiment as this doesn't really mirror the same parameters in which alcohol is used in small doses for cleaning.
Anyway , why not use an organo-functional silane based coupling agent after using the Drystar/moisture evaporator.. That helps in eliminating water/moisture too.

I believe the video we made using denatured alcohol speaks for itself and there is no need to use anything after using a moisture evaporator as the moisture has already been removed. I try to keep things simple so the average person reading this forum can understand it, and more importantly so I can understand it. Engineers we hire for developing and testing windshield repair products are useful for proving theories and helping us make sense of some of the things we experience in the field, but often the reports they provide don't mean a lot to simple folks like me, so I always ask for the dumbed down version. I would ask the same from you if you wish to share your expertise on this forum.
