Discoloration of pit filler resin

Has anyone ever used the chemical hand warmers ''hot hands'' to warm damaged areas before repairs? I think they produce moist heat so they need to be used on the inside.

I have been thinking about those, I am pretty sure that it isn't a damp heat though I wear them to go hunting and I have never gotten damp because of them. However if I remember they can reach some high temperatures when exposed directly to air, I would definately try it out on a practice piece of glass first. Let me know how it works
