Repairs on laminated door glass

I'm wondering what experience anybody has had with doing chip repairs on the door glasses? Success? Failures?

I did my first one a couple months ago. Basic straight crack about 1-1 1/2" driver door. Honestly don't remember if i did it from impact point or did a shallow drill hole and popped bullseye but the customer was happy.

Did a few on older vehicles like Chev Suburban from '70's and 80's. Have done a couple on new vehicles. Laminated glass pretty much repairs the same wherever it is. I've done a few laminated sunroofs too. Not too sure about long cracks on movable glass. Anybody tried that?
