Default Re: What percentage get repaired

Has anyone out there had any success in using coupons of one form or another? on fliers, in ads or anything, If so what coupon offers were good/not good, etc?

ie. free bowling with chip repair.
free movie rental

I have seen Free Pizza hut lunch buffet with chip repair.

most of the repairs I do are through inusrance and free to the customer so I really can't offer a discount,
I have thought of offering $10 off a chip repair and when they come in I will up-sell them to have the work billed through the insurance companies for free.

Anyway, these are just some of my thoughts and questions, any response will be greatly appreciated.

Default Coupons

We've got a coupon going out in 2 weeks for a free lunch at one of 100 restaurants in The Denver Area.

They will get the free lunch with a free or paid for chip repair.

I get these $10 gift certificates for $7.

See if you can get hooked up with a pizza place and get a deal on their pizzas if you buy some in advance.

We'll post on the results of this promotion when it goes out.

Default coupons

I have not used coupons. However a couple of years ago I sent out mailers to this area in which a number of other businesses paid for their advertisements to be included with mine and mailed to all the postal patrons here. I hid 5 stars in the other ads(with their permission), and offered a prize to the first 10 people who called with the correct locations. I did a similar thing with my ad in the local paper. I like the coupon idea, and may use it in my area as a gift certificate that can be used in any of our local business association members' establishments. Have to work out details with the association, but I think it would be pretty easy to set it up.

Hello all,

I have used coupons recently in direct mailer for fleet work. It is for a FREE repair to evaluate our service. I do not use the word FREE though. I use the word COMPLIMENTARY instead. It is also time sensitive. I did this so it creates my follow up path. I believe most sales/accounts will come from the follow ups, not the initial mailer. I thought if they already have someone else this would bait the hook for them to at least get the freebie. Once I am there well then its up to me to prove my worth. If they don't have anyone thats even better. It is to soon for a response on my mailings yet but I am confident it should pull in something. If not I will Try, Try and Try again.

Pay it foward,

Brian

That is a good idea Brian, if the fleet accounts around here weren't so cheap I would give it a try.
I am considering moving somewhere elseand I will keep that in mind. Maybe I'll try it here anyway and prove that you do get what you pay for.

Thanks,

Hello,

My Initial letter did not generate any responses but my follow up phone call did. I have 3 appointments scheduled to meet with fleet accounts so far. I was hoping for a better response percentage but it was a small mailing. I will continue trying and trying and trying.

I personally think that the initial letters get your prospect primed for your face to face but it will be the in person part that will lock it in. I am not a experienced salesman so I rely on the letters to soften them up first. This way, if they read the letter they are already familiar with me. For me this eases the anxiety from lack of experience in selling. Plus I believe most people are to busy or want take the time to respond. They need to be pushed.

Pay it foward,

Brian

Default sale letter

Something for you guys to think about. Most letters don't get opened. The rule-of-thumb in the direct mail industry is a 2% response. You'll get a lot better result....depending on several factors such as your reputation, offer, timing, etc. if you try to place your letter in a billing statement. Most everyone opens their bills. I suggest you contact the large fleet fuelers in your area. If a company is burning fuel then one could reason that they have vehicles. Work out an arrangement with the fleet card providers to accept the fleet card for payment on the windshield repair. The fleet customer will love it because he/she will be able to track the purchase and repair to the vehicle and to the driver. They will get only one statement which includes fuel and repairs. If you're interested, I can give you more advice on the companies to contact.
