At least some states have inspections. We dont have them here. One county requires emission control, but that is all... you can drive in with busted windshield, bald tires, bad brakes, etc. but as long as your emissions are okay, you can drive that car on the road. Oh, you might get stopped for something obvious, but it usually results in just a warning (not even a fix-it-ticket). One of my neighbors has a windshield with cracks like a road map all over it. The cracks are so old they have bubbles all along them. Two years ago he was stopped and warned. He is still driving the same vehicle with the same windshield. Some states seem to be too strict, but others, like this one, arent the least bit concerned about safety at all.
