Default Re: 100th Post

I was wondering if there is anyone out there who is reffering out their replacement work? Alot of times the cracks are either over 6 icches or in drivers view. I was looking to set up a referral fee situation with a local Replacement facility for replacements. Any thoughts?

Default Replacement Refferals?

If you do decide to do referalls or finder fees I would work out a program with an independent company that is established. Interview them and make sure that they are doing quality work. Full cut installs, OE glass, quick cure eurethanes etc.

You may want to get a feel on how they run their shop. Visit them at their place. I would negotiate a 10% fee on cash jobs and 15% on insurance work. Base your percentages on the amount of the ticket before taxes. Then get paid. Test them out with a client or two that yu do work for. Then ask the client whaat they thought of them.

Work on a pay per install program with a reasonable amount of time to be paid. I would take a pay per week program on installs the week before.

I say do it this way because that's what I did. If you hustle you can get into low six figures between your repairs and your referals without killing yourself. Replacement companies need you more than you need them so your in control.

Default referal fee

Thanks for the advice. How do you present this info to clients? Do you advertise that you do both repair and replacement and then just outsource the work or do you just reccomend it on a case by case basis? I was thinking that to advertise both and just outsource the replacement would be the way to go. I have worked out a deal of 15% here with a local independent who has been in business for 23 years and does great work.
