Is this forum only for Delta users or Delta tech support?

I didn't notice anything offensive to Delta, unless the Daystar guy works for Windshield Doctor or something...

There are other tools out there that work great for people. Not trying to light a fire, just curious. Actually, the website and tools the thread refers to are not what I use or recommend, but that's irrelevent.

Obviously, the forum is not only for Delta Kits customers and we do very little tech support here. We have a toll free number for that. The forum is for you to post your opinions, regardless of whether or not it agrees with ours. Frankly, there are a number of posts posts that are not all that flattering to Delta Kits and even more that we do not agree with, but they are still there for all to see.

We don't delete or lock many threads, which I feel makes this forum a bit more popular than most others. The person who usually monitors the forum is out of town, and I'm not sure why the thread was locked. It was sounding a bit like an advertisement which we don't allow and don't do ourselves, but I don't know that that was the reason for the lock.

In any case, you are welcome to start another thread if you feel that the original thread was particularly beneficial to you or other users of the forum. It would be great if everyone would take a few moments to register. It lends credibility to the comments and suggestions of the person doing the posting.

Deltakitsinc,

Brent, I think that having all register before posting is a great idea. It will weed out some of the less than professional shadow posters. Anyone with the forum guidelines and the progression of windshield repair in mind, should not have a problem with that. We should all have to stand and be counted so to speak. Ultimately you would produce more beneficial posts. Since this is a forum to sometimes give an opinion even when one was not requested...That was mine.

Pay it foward,

Brian

I agree Brian. We don’t want to discourage anyone from using the forum, and there are some unregistered users that offer very good input. On the other hand, it only takes a couple of minutes to register and it would definitely help to keep everyone honest, and would be beneficial to the overall quality of the forum.

Thanks for the suggestion. We will go over the pros and cons of manditory registration and get back to you.

My name is Darin Blatner, co-founder of the The Windshield Doctor Repair Kit. I have received a couple of emails about this forum and would like the chance to respond. Daystar is a customer of ours in the Washington D.C. area and has no affiliation to our company. We appreciate the fact that Delta Kits has taken the time to create a web site forum like this that allows people to exchange thoughts and ideas about our industry. We consider Delta Kits to be a quality manufacturer of windshield repair equipment and the fact that they allow people to talk about their competitors in this forum, shows that they believe in their products, as do we.

I agree with Delta Kits that these forums should not be used as an advertising medium, but a place where windshield repair technicians can go for help and information from their peers.
