Default re: Training

What are the absolute bare minimums needed, in as far as equipment is concerned, in order to start a mobile windshield repair business? It seems that many different companies offer many different kits with many different pieces of equipment and alot of the stuff just seems like extra STUFF.

Thank you

Default Building a Basic Starter Kit

Ben,

That would really be dictated by the level of commitment you are going to put forth. I will assume by "bare minimums", you are looking at part time initially. By that standard in my opinion you would need....

1. Bridge and injector
2. A good all around resin, pit fill and polish
3. Drill and bits
4. UV light curing lamp
5. A tool to eliminate moisture
6. Pick or Scribe
7. A heat source (Bic lighter or butane torch)
8. Hood protector(Blanket)
9. UV blocker(Baseball cap or rag/towel)
10.Curing tabs and razor blades
11.The ability to educate and sell yourself and the service

I would say these 11 items along with practice will allow you to produce great results. You can find some of these items at your local hardware store if you want to take the time to price shop around for the best deals. There are suppliers that sell kits with just the meat and potatoes you are looking for and that allow you to custom build your own kit. DELTA KITS is one of these companies. It sure does take the hassle and aggravation out of it.

Optional items would be business insurance and an EIN#, and marketing materials. These things should get you on your way. Welcome to windshield repair and good luck.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

Pay it foward,
