Default Re: Placemat Advertising

If anyone really thinks that they'll get a 5% response on placemat advertising...I've got a great deal on a bridge in Brooklyn for ya'.

I'll guarantee that if you sat there in that diner and PERSONALLY spoke with EVERYONE that walked in the door, you'd never get a 5% response!

Placemat, phonebook cover, register receipt, etc. salesmen bank on those pie-in-the-sky numbers. In my dealings with over 3000 winshield repair, auto glass, and auto repair clients, not even ONE of them had gotten enough response to make their initial investment back.

Before you spend even one cent on advertising, spend a few bucks on your 'advertising education' at your local book store.

Default Use realistic goals

Ron,

Thanks for the input for placemat advertising or similar.

I see you suggest investing in advertising education. Well I do agree with you. One should never stop learning. Although I thought that forums like this were a vehicle for learning virtually... We should all share are experiences with each other to help the next individual bypass our mistakes. Maybe thats just the way I think. Is it not all about progression?

You mentioned going to your book store....

Why did'nt leave any suggestions on which books might be best? That would give someone a definate direction. Better than letting someone guess what book or books might be best.

With all your experience, why not suggest what has worked for you and your clients? Point somone in the right direction to help them bypass potential mistakes.

I guess what i am trying to express is, I use this forum as a learning tool. As I am sure others do. What I am seeing are replys that are very vague sometimes. I know that I need help sometimes and maybe even need my hand held other times. I am sure I am not the only one. So maybe we could all try to take are replys to the next level and give more specific details that would help someone to a solution.

I hope this made some kind of sense.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

Pay it foward,

Brian

Well, I've read the ads on placemats. Some were even interesting. But, I nor anyone else that I have witnessed ever removed and or requested a placemat to take home. With that being said. Invest in signage whether magnetics or vinyl for your vehicle. Your out in the public eye 6-9 hours a day.. Being seen by alot of people, who by the way are driving automobiles with WINDSHIELDS..
