Hi guys and gals. Say, does anyone have any recommendations for a "windshield repair" banner - one that I can put up at a weekend location while I'm working? (i.e., size, color, cost, on-line supplier, etc.) I would like to use something that doesn't include the word "free," as I would prefer to leave it up to the customer to deal with their insurer. Here is what I did for my first banner. I went to home depot and got my tarp for approx. $6.00. 5'6" x 7'6" 10 mil thick. I also purchased PVC tubing to make a frame approx. $8.00. I went to an indoor fleamarket near me for my vinyl letters. 8" and 10" approx $60.00. I used my kitchen floor to mark off the tarp for letter spacing and installation. I used a spray bottle with a little soapy water and a squeegee. I also used a hair dryer to help the letters be more friendly...It is not hard to do. Just prep your tarp and take your time. It took me all of 1hr. I live in an apt. on a busy side street. My landlord goes to Florida for the winter so since I live on the second floor road side with a balcony I decided to attach the PVC frame to the railing until my landlord returns of course.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"> I used a brown tarp to match my building with white letters to pop out. There are plenty of online suppliers to go to if you do a search on signs &amp; banners. Price compare and pick any one.

As to what the sign says, leave your company name off of it (or put it in small letters if space allows). Nobody cares who you are...they care about what you can do for them.

The sign I used for years on the back of my truck was, "Stone Damaged Windshields Repaired, 922-STONE"

Since it was on a moving target, it needed to describe EXACTLY what I did in as few words possible. The vanity number was important to help them remember the number without having to write it down.
