I was recently forced to take a 75% paycut because of corporate down sizing. Today I'm forced to look around for something else to do. I now own a kit and plan on doing WR part time and eventually full time. Funny part is - My wife really thinks if I don't have a boss I can't make any money and she thinks wr is some kind of get rich quick scheme. I've tried network marketing a time or 2 and didnt make any money, somehow that is what she expects out of me by doing WR. The more I think about it,,,HUMMM!!! I'm going to show her! I already have jobs lined up simply because of the lettering on my vehicle. That cost me 30 bucks. Check this out! People are stopping at my house when they drive by and see my truck. I really havent even started and poeple are comming to me!!!! My next step is getting set up with Lynx and Safelite. Seems to me, the only restraints in this business are the ones we put on ourselves or let others impose. So, If its to be, its up to me, right? :lol:

I would just say this, ask your wife this. Do you know of any get rich quick scheams that the insurance industry supports? I don't, let her know this is a legitamite business, and if she doesn't believe you tell her to pick a State Farm agent out of the phone book and have her call them and ask them if this is legite. This is nothing like Network Marketing, let her know that the idea of our business's being compaired to those types of buisness's is kinda insulting. When you have that kind of conviction it may change her thinking. Hope that helps.

You can grab the bull by the horns but it wont work with women, I like the part time idea better. She might change her mind when you keep calling to say you will be home late and working on saturdays. I come home and drop cash on the table, girls understand that!!

sorry to be so harsh but if shes hung up on the high tech job stigma (white collar) then her hubby moving to blue collar is a down step in status again if this bugs her time to go the day someone tells me what i cant do to better myself than see ya.

Tuna - I feel your pain man :x :x My wife was a little skeptical to begin with until I flew her down to a Delta training seminar and she sat through the sales presentation. I have a hard time convincing her of alot of my ideas...(I'm full of them) but take her to a car lot and she's a salesmans dream :shock: :shock: Anyway Jeff and Matt turned on the charm and when we left SHE was telling ME what a good idea this was 8) 8) GO FIGURE !! What was really interesting was that Matt ( a Delta employee ) told me that he left the computer business to get into the windshield repair business. I have to agree with CPR....Once the money starts rolling in the girls come around.Good Luck, but take scratchy's advice and go at it full bore. The moneys out there. Bob

Prove to her it's not a fly by night business venture and write up a nice business plan on paper and just impress her a little with all the research you've done. Explain to her that spending 3-4 hrs a day on the computer looking for new job placement could be better spent doing repairs. At least for now. Also explain the risk involved and investment are minimal.
If it fails it fails! But atl least you tried!!! The worst hit you'll take is 50% on your equipment, some extra wear on your vehicle and $75 a week on fuel. That's assuming your not driving a hummer

I'm glad I got a wife that understands me. She never nags and almost always listens to me. When she caught a virus, I take care of her. When she needs something, I buy it for her. I always buy my wife gifts. Even if she don't need it, I just buy it. Most of the time, she's always happy and that makes me happy as well. We have 6 wonderful kids, 4 have grown up and moved out.

I'm in the same boat as Tuna. My wife is a hard sell when it comes to my ideas. I'm still doing research on this so I can put a business plan together. I'm retiring from the Navy in a few years and I want to start part time now so I'll have something when I get out. I don't want to keep working long hours for someone else the rest of my life. :shock: With my retirement pay, I shouldn't have to work more than 4 hours a day at this to make a living. Then I'll be able to make up for all the time I lost when I was deployed.

I too have an understanding Wife. I think the key for her willingness to be understanding is that I'm a doer, and not a wishful thinker. Meaning this, If you have a plan (windshield repair) don't bet the bank, don't go in debt over it. Keep it simple, and just do it. When you have the proof that it can be done, she will smile when she sees the dollars flowing in.

I paid for my Delta Kit, by first making money on Ebay. (3 months) Its not hard, doesn't cost anything (by starting with the junk in your garage, or Yard Sale stuff) and it will show your wife that you don't want to take your hard earned dollars (from your regular job) to pay for your new business venture.

Starting this business isn't about "will it work", of course it will, where ever there are windshields, it will work, what it "IS" about is will you work the business.

For me, I retire from the Air Force in 5 weeks. Will it work for me, you bet it will, cuz I ain't succombing to the JOB routine.

Remember, don't wait for the opportunity to come along. The opportunity is here, do something with it.
