Default Anybody promoting anything besides windshield repair day to day?

Funny thing. I didn't do that much homework. I guess I was nuts. Honestly, I would have been belly up in January of 04 if I hadn't called Coister on the phone in November and began walking down the road of doing it right. There are guys I have seen since 2001 that do it only part time on the side of the road and it looks like it might work. I tried the same thing and it was totally hit or miss. I knew I couldn't jump in FT unless I knew without a doubt, when I walk out the door I will then come back with money in hand, preferrably a preset quota. Big difference between hoping and knowing.
I think a no brainer for someone looking at windshield repair as an option is to walk around 3 grocery store parking lots and then a mall in there area looking for stone damage. I did it back in September of 2003. The cars were riddled with damage, easily 1 out of 3 had damage.
That be known, there are 3 things that are kind of tough to deal with in windshield repair. Daylight savings time in the fall is a PITA. It cuts into alot of viable repair time when people are home or about. The second is the rain. Not soooo bad though because rain brings out the stones and damages more windows. The third is the Holiday season. If there is one time when nobody is thinking about fixing a W/S its Thanksgiving to New Years.
I am amazed at the consistency of this business over the last 6 months though. After learning how to go out and get the work, a la Coitster and many of you guys, this business really does work week in and out, even building momentum on its own. Even better, when I need to go out of town, many of my customers wait for me to get back instead of finding another tech, WOW!

Scratchy,
Great to hear things are working out for you. Going out and finding it is always the best way. Let me know if I can be anymore help.

My wife offered the same objections and scepticism, but I told her I was going to do it anyway and I would like to have her support. She is behind me now but it took some convincing
