Anyone having success using Delta on cracks?

I am pretty satisfied with my delta kits repairs on bulleyes, etc. However, I am very displeased with the crack repairs. The resin never flows more than 1 1/2", unless it is a practice windshield out of a vehicle.

I have had very good guidance from SCREENMAN. (thanks a million Screenman) Currently, I am waiting on sample resins from Esprit and GT. I think I need to purchase another bridge to use the two bridge crack repair method. The method in the video isnt getting it done.

Any thoughts or feedback is appreciated (especially if you repair cracks using Delta's Kit).

This isnt a delta demeaning post. It's just an area I am having difficulty with. I do recommend purchasing delta, especially their resins.

I don't have a record that you have, and I would certainly recommend it. There's no reason why your crack repairs should only go 1 1/2", so give me a call when you get a chance!

lakosbo, can you describe what you are doing (method)? Are u using crack jacks? What does the damage look like at the point the resin stops? Etc...

I use the b-300 injector on crack repair with good results but I find all cracks have their own personality and I approach each one differently according to the situation.

What I try to do is to assess the situation before I begin a repair. Look closely at the damage to see any twists in the direction of the crack, these areas are usually tight and jack placement is important to open the area up.

You said that at the 1 1/2" mark the flow stops, are you out of resin in the injector at that time? (Cracks require the injector to be loaded with more resin than smaller damage. Just remember the thing only holds so much.) Are you placing a drop of resin behind the end of the flow on the crack? This should wick into the crack, if not you may have the tightness situation I described earlier.

There are many things that can affect a crack repair and I'm not sure what amt of practice u have gotten but it takes a fair amount to become proficient at it so don't be discouraged. You can achieve great results with the system u have!! Just keep an eye open and your mind open too
