With the price of gas on a rampage I was wondering if anybody has migrated to a motorcycle. I guess it would have to have some kind of box on the back to put business decals on. Thoughts?

sounds like too much fun. I would probably end up cruising the interstate each day getting nothing done.

Screenman,
Unfortunately, here in the US, people tend to stereotype folks that ride motorcycles as beer swilling, body painted rowdies. That said, I would think that a really slick bike with a sidecar that was all decked out with business graphics would certainly be an attention grabber

Doesnt really matter how you get to the job just that you are there. I met a guy who does cabs in NY and rental returns he takes the subway to work

When I started I used a signwritten van but over the years I have built up a customer base that is used to the quality of my work.
I have the sort of character that seems to able to get away with most things. I think my customers see me as proffesional in my approach to work and as a bit of entertainment to brighten up the day. Make sure your customers look foreward to seeing you we have people over here in smart repair who have definately had character bypasses and everybody hides when they appear on site do not be one of these. Beer swilling yes please but only at weekends.

I use an Aprilia Scarabeo 150cc scooter to do all my jobs. I have over 100 fleet accounts and all I drive is my scooter. It goes over 70MPH and looks very nice. People love the idea and it brings questions and comments like crazy. People remember the scooter over me sometimes.

ok screeman and brian!
Where do you carry the ladder???? I think that's very cool that you guys can get away with using your motorcycles. With gas prices killing me everyday.....I think I might consider this option next spring. ![]() |

Brian,
Just noticed you do all the Jiffy Lubes in Portland. In my area they are all under contract with Safelite. So what's the deal? How much are you getting per repair with Jiffy? Can't be much I'd imagine  |
