I do not give kick backs. In the UK it would be to expensive to do so as they would not be tax deductable, so if I gave someone £10.00 on a £45.00 job it would cost me another £4.00 in tax at the end of the year.

If anyone gives kickbacks they should check with the highest level of management that it is alright to do so.

I have many times been asked to add a few jobs to the invoice and give them a drink/tip/kickback or whatever I have never been tempted by this as I see it as fraud and corruption it has taken many years to build a good name I do not want to lose it for the sake of a couple of jobs.

Just my thoughts and everyone is entitled to their own on this subject.

If someone call me for a repair and it is a cash job, I tell them if know of someone who also has one in there windshield and they get me to do it at the same time that I will give them 5.00 off of theirs.

Had a large glass replacement company in my area that had been giving out kickbacks to truck fleet rental and lease locations for almost 4 years to inhance business opportunities At the end of each month they'd pay out a rebate check to service managers or rental managers. Guess what happened? IRS finally caught up with them and wanted to see 1099's for all these cash rebate checks written before they'd allow them to write it off as a company expense.

Needless to say, none of these managers or their companies were happy with this glass company requiring them to fill out these 1099's because that meant they had to go back 4 years to re-adjust earned income on their tax fillings.

Probably explains why my monthly donuts drops haven't had much effect getting into these accounts for the last 3 years which I don't consider a kickback sense I don't claim it on my taxes.

Gotta love it Now I'm on a fair playing field with some of these big glass companies. Finally getting some of these once untouchable accounts.
