Working Classic Car Shows
Afew years ago I joined the classic chevy club. It worked out very well for me. I also advertised in their newsletter, which went to all members, and that was good too. I especially enjoyed the swap meets, as they located me in a place where people could drive right up to where I was to get repaired. There was always a crowd watching me work. The exposure is wonderful and I get to meet a lot of great people too. The swap meet's a two day deal, but many participants camped overnigt, and we had our little motor home there...it was like a big party. I made brownie points with the neighbor ladies by letting them use our rest room so they didnt have to trudge all the way to the portajohns (the guys were on their own, though LOL ). I dont suppose you would have to be a member in order to participate, but it sure cant hurt... especially if the membership isnt very high. That reminds me.. I need to renew.

As for working the shows: I only was able to do one, seemed like I always have something else going. But that one was very good for me, even though there was restrictions ... not able to actually do repairs that day... only promotion. So I walked the show, introduced myself, handed out cards and literature and scheduled appointments. The good thing about that was I didnt have to pay any space fee because I had to park my RV outside the show ... but it was right across from the entry/exit. It was an outdoor show in a parking lot, and all the attendees had to go past the RV to get in. The RV isnt big... but it is a rolling billboard with signage on both sides and the back. My husband stayed with the RV to talk to people there.

Just remember old glass is brittle and the lamination process was not the same on the oldies. Careful x 10
