I stand corrected, I do see through an internet search that a company has developed a windshield stripping system that pulverizes the glass after it is stipped.

Mafsu,
While stationed on Guam in the Marine Corps(67-68), I was told they crushed windshields, coral, and added to produce their asphalt for road resurfacing. Since almost everything had to be flown in or by ship, costs were reduced tremendously. The wet roads were very slick!
A friend in Colorado also told me glass was recycled.
If I was lied to, I appologize.
Delta,
What about laws vs. guidelines?

It may be possible to recycle windshields, but how common is it?
I know of nobody around here doing it, I still say they get thrown in the landfill, It wont be popular until someone can see big profits in it, maybe 10-20 years away.

You are right Chips1144. Because of the high cost associated with the process of recycling windshields, most end up in landfills.
