Hello again everybody. I've got another question for the masters out there. I filled out, and submitted, the Lynx contract (just the basic one, I haven't submitted the Allstate or State Farm ones yet). In just a couple days, they called me with a customer! I was shocked. I didn't even know if they had accepted me or not. My big question is: What insurance companies go through Lynx? To my understanding, there are about 50 of them. I also remember(when I worked for somebody else doing windshield repair) there being 1-800 numbers for all of these companies. Are the 1-800 numbers only for billing the company directly? Can I just call the Lynx line if the company goes through Lynx, or do I have to call a different number? Thanks again for the help.

Hi Ricky- when lynx called you with a customer they should have gave you a dispatch number or said they would fax you a confirmation. Did they do that ? If they did that will be all that you need to deal with the customer. You will also need to supply the cust. with one of your invoices for a receipt. Be sure to write down the vin number on the invoice and get the customers signature ect. You should be getting an active client list in the mail from lynx, but it may take awhile. This list will have the 800 numbers you mentioned that are used to report claims. In many cases the individual insurance company prefers that the claims are reported to them first and then lynx will come on the line to finalize the repairs. I do all of my billing through a third party (glasscomp) but I believe you can now submit your bills directly to lynx after you get signed online and are given a password ect. check out their site.

Thank you very much Bob. This helps me out alot. I did the job to the best of my ability. Hopefully that will be enough to get more referals. I can't beleive how easy it was! I didn't even have to call and get a claim # or anything, but I'm sure all of you already know this.

Also consider using an EDI service to submit your invoices to Lynx. I use GlassComp. They charge $2.25 vs the $7.00 Lynx charges to submit invoices by fax. Safelite allows you to submit invoices over the web for free.
