Default Add on to Windshield Repair

Hi, I am just wondering if any of you guys are adding on another product to your repair buisness-----I myself have picked up GT Poly Hog Plastic Headlight kit .I am still getting into using it, and fine it does not work to well on the after market head Lamps there is still a glaze on the headlight after going through the different cleaning methods--The headlight can be a safety item ie you cannot see while driving and you could fail the inspection because the headlight does not show enough light .Some of those headlight on the Hi-Line cars are very expensive --Any feed back--PLEASE

Hi there a1repair ,thank you for your posting regarding gold plating does this item really work.-I have seen gold plating peal off or go dull after a while .What is the correct method of getting a good job done right?? A few years ago there were plenty of techs doing gold plating around the Mass area, but they seem to be very few around these days

Hi again TBW

Whoever has their emblems plated need to be avised that the emblems need to be cared for, as does jewelry. Cleaned & polished w/ car wax etc, otherwise they will tarnish.

PS: The Gold Plating Business has faded these last few years. windshield repair is much more consistent. I wish WSR is all we had as a service, but we have the luxury of zero competition, and there's a tremendous need for the other services we provide.

Hi there a1repair, Thank you for your reply. I find there is a lot of new mobile techs out there in the mass area etc-- wheel painting while the wheel is on the vehicle --mobile shampooing the floor carpet ie driver & passenger side and then placing a plastic sheet on the floor to the protect the carpet---

TBW

Have you tried glass scratch removal? It acounts for about 30% of my business, the secret is to have a good system that will actualy remove a scratch, not just a buffer, there are very good systems out there and there are very expensive over-priced ones(A1 can tell you about the latter) that require patience by the car-load(not to mention wrists of steel). I also do glass treatments some-what like Aquapel from PPG, but of my own formulation( less than $1 per application instead of $6-8 depending on you purchacing power), I give the first application free with a repair(not advertised just a little add on I give the customer), this gets the customer addicted, than I reapply for 29.95 for the windshield only or up to $100 for the whole car(depending on widow count and size). An application generaly last about 3 months on the WS and close to a year on the other glass, great repeat business.

Merci

Dawn , could you please clarify "paint perfecting" , it sounds profitable, like a previously enjoyed vehicule sounds better than used...

merci
