I got a call the other day to come and fix a chip for a customer. Right when I got there the customer said he just soaked it down with water to see if any would come all the way through to the interior! It was a bad chip... but not that bad!

I had the opposite of funny happen to me yesterday (Friday) ... I approached this nice looking family lady at the gas station where my tent is currently placed .. and told her we were doing free rock chip repairs and that this big chip on her windshield could be fixed ... she said "I'm not interested in whatever you've got now just step off!" .. naturally when someone is rude to me I pretend like I didn't hear them so I said "I'm sorry I can't hear you with all the traffic noise off the road ... but your chip can be fixed and I would do it quick because of this arm heading downward from......" she stopped me and again said "I'm not interested now back off!!!" and she rolled up her window.

LOL I hear you on situations like that. I am the exact same way. The more people are rude to me the more I push the issue in my passive aggressive sort of way! I think if I didn’t act that way I would go crazy and act like those people. One time I was scouring this Lowe’s parking lot looking for rock chips and leaving my calling card. I had just got to the end of a row away from the front of the store when I noticed this lady had been walking my way. she stopped when I turned around and saw her and threw her arms up in the air and got this really sour look on her face and said "what are you doing" while shaking her head in disgust. I clearly heard what she said so being me I acted like I couldn’t understand her and started walking towards her. After saying it 3 more times, and getting more and more disgusted as she did, I finally got within 10 feet of her and said "Oh I’m a windshield repair technician and I just finished a repair and was letting anybody else who had rock chips know that I can fix them". About the time I said repair she shook her head and turned around to walk away saying "Oh my god" like she was so put out by this. I continued my speech to her back as she walked away in disgust. I have a feeling people like this will have a very short life span.

I have found that maybe half the people who use chip saver tabs put them on the inside of the screen ( to keep the water out ).

I still get a bang out of people that put a strip of tape on the inside of the windshield below a long crack. LOL
