I have been using both and really can't decide which I like better. I seem to get quicker fill of star breaks with premium bond but like how the magnibond is fixing long cracks. Anybody here using just premium bond for everything all the time? I fixed a HUGE star break today with premium bond and couldn't have been happier with how it came together.

I prefer premium bond for all chips but I prefer different resins for cracks. I dont have any experience with magnibond.

Magnibond. Its a good all round resin and no where near as corrosive. we have tested both and while pleased with both we put Magnibond in front.

Gotta say Magnibond! Nothing really wrong with the premium, but the magni seems to move through the break quicker and more completely with less issues.
Love me some Magnibond! |

I don't really know which thread to post this question, but since we are talking about RESINS, does any one know the shelf life of the Magnibond?

I've been outof the USA for almost a month , went to Costa Rica to investigate this country, no one could inform me about the windshield repair business overthere , so I had to see it for myself. Came back with some mighty good information and acquired a good looking girlfriend too.I'll relocate to Costa Rica as soon all the red tape has been taken care off to become Permanent Resident. First will move in with my chica ,'till my house has been build and finished end off February 2008 and both of us will move to our new home in La Giralde , 25 km north of San Jose , the capital of Costa Rica. I'll need windshield repair sypplies 'cause I set up 5 dealers spread over the country .These Ticas are in the replacement business and want me to teach them the repair trade $$$$. Brent , when you read this , call me to talk business. Pura Vida , Ed dBa Dutchman Windshield Repair.

We use Magnibond exclusively at this point after switching from Premium Bond. We have had great success with this resin. There are such subtle differences between Premium Bond and Magnibond that I doubt anyone of us would really be able to tell the difference between the two without seeing the label. On paper Magnibond appears to be ever so slightly thicker and... Well, check out one of my earlier posts on this same topic as I listed all the resin specs for both Premium and Magnibond.
If you dont feel like wasting your time researching, the bottom line is...If you are considering Magnibond you can't go wrong but then again you cant go wrong with Premiumbond either.
