Useing suction cup gel
Hi All,
Just a tip on what I use for suction cup gel. I buy a 5 liter can of Ultrasound gel from the chemist or medical supply place. The gel is oderless and water soluable and does not stain anything. It can also be used to slide the bridge on. It can dry out though over time on the ws in hot weather, but it is cheap and works wel and above all cleans off easily. Maybe you already know this. Just a note:
Do NOT do this if using a vacuum cup, such as on a B200 or B300. Suction cups only.

This was discussed on this forum before and thats when I picked up the tip for useing cheap hand creme for cup lube.So far so good for me.

Jeff,
Thanks for the early warning. I have a B300 in the post on its way to me. Please elaborate on not using the gel on the B300. What problems will it cause? I see the other chaps are using handcream and will switch immediately. Thanks ChipRite

There's no need for it since the B-300 suction cup has a pump which removes the air to keep the bridge firmly affixed to the w.s.. Adding any gel,oil or handcream might contaminate the small round felt filter on the bottom of the cup. The gel might be good however for occasionally lubricating the o-rings on the spring-loaded suction cup pump instead of vaseline (like GM recommends) but you should probably contact Delta to be sure.

I am not sure if your cups are made by Wood's Powr Grip, they are the formost authority on cups, here is a link to their maintenance page for their cups. http://www.powrgrip.com/powrgrip/pdf/01sts.pdf

Thanks to all for the response, I can see what Jeff meant now. It seems as if the breather on the vacuum cup can get clogged or will pul the gel in. Does this mean that you cannot use a vacuum cup bridge to slide along a crack, it must be a suction cup bridge then?
