I don't believe their is a 1 year requirement, but the insurance thing my be necessary for lynks and safelite. Call e-direct and ask, they are very helpful. They have an online chat support during business hours. They are on the west coast so they are a little late getting online if your on the east coast.

I can't remember about the 1 year in business or not but I know you need the insurance. I got mine thru state farm for $18.00 a month for $1,000,000 liability.

eDirectGlass does not require insurance, and there is no "time in business" requirement.
State Farm requires Liability Insurance.
