"flap"?

So here's my problem. I have run into a compund break that kind of looks like the half moon that I have read about previousely on this forum. The odd thing about it though, is that it has a "flap" of glass about 1" in diameter over the break. What I mean by flap, is that the crack is horizontal. Mabey a better way of explaining it would be that it is like a bullseye but with a whole half of it's edges exiting to the outside layer of glass and It seems like the point of impact is under the flap of glass. I never would have repaired somthing like this, but it just so happened to be on my mother's car--so i tryed it . When I went about repairing it, I put pit resin over the whold repair, except for part of the "crack" and cured it. I tryed to fill the repair through the part I left open. After a few cycles of preassure/vacuming, i quickly found out that that wasnt going to work. So, I completely covered the chip with pit resin and re-cured. I then drilled it in the center of the "flap"/bulsey where the spider legs under the "flap" met, and filled it like a typical combo-break. This worked but not to my satisfaction, because when I scraped the chip after curing, the flap was quite a bit higher above the original w/s level. so there's a little hump. luckily, its below the w/s wiper's path. Has anyone else seen a break like this? What is the most efficient way to go about repairing somthing like this?

Perry, without a picture I can't be sure what you see. But, I've seen large bullseyes where the entire area above the bullseye is raised slightly. I've found that the raised area, when probed, will lift off the WS, therefore making it not really repairable.
