I'm using curing tape.

I finish my repairs in this order and have been having excellent results.

Fill repair and before I remove the injector I dab some thicker resin across the top to prevent air from seeping back in. After this cures, I peel off the tape (usually left intact), scrape off that resin and then apply a dab of pit filler neccessary to fill the resulting small divet. Scrape that smooth and then polish.

Thanks for the great idea. Now I'll be making my own mylar squares and using hair gel for suction cup lube!
