Default Ques. About Billing

I Am Looking To Start A Ws Repair Business For The First Time. I Have Been In The Field For Over 5 Years And Have Delt With The Billing And Such At The Place I Am Working. However, They Have Always Used Quest And Delt With The Networks In Their Quotes And Billing.
Where I Am Going To Be Really Small At First, I Was Wondering If You Can Just Bill Ins. Co. Directly And If So How And How Do You Base Your Pricing. Also Can You Bill Directley To The Networks, Or Is Everything Edi And Incredably Difficult. I Know After A Few It Will Be Easier, But Until Then I Need A Few Pointers.

Thank You For Your Suggestions And Help

Ox,
Read through the forums. You can get alot of good information that will help you out just from questions that have been asked before. Yes you can bill directly to the insurance companys.

Question Re: Ques. About Billing

THANKS FOR RESPONDING!

I LISTENED TO YOUR ADVICE AND SEARCHED QUITE A BIT AND FOUND MANY VERY USEFULL POINTS. LET ME SEE IF I AM MISSING ANYTHING:

IF I AM DOING A JOB FOR ,SAY ALLSTATE.

1. CALL ALLSTATE CLAIM DEPT. DIRECTLY, NOT LYNX.
2. TELL THEM THE WORK BEING DONE, TALK TO CUST, GIVE ALL INFO. ABOUT CAR, AND MY SHOP INFO.
3. PUT CLAIM # ON INVOICE, AND THEN ASK FOR THEIR BILLING FAX #.
4. FAX THEM THE INVOICE WITH CUSTOMER'S SIGNATURE ON IT AND WHATEVER PRICE I CHOOSE (WITH IN REASON) PLUS TAX.
5. WAIT FOR CHECK.
6. CALL IN ABOUT A WEEK TO MAKE SURE IT IS BEING PROCESSED

IS THIS ALL. I AM SURE I AM MISSING SOMETHING. ALSO IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET A REFERRAL BY BEING SET UP WITH A NETWORK OR WILL THE CO. SEND THEM OUT. i WOULDN'T MIND BEING SET UP WITH SGC OF LYNX, BUT AS OF YET I DON'T HAVE THE INS. TO QUALIFY. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?

THANKS A LOT FOR BEING PATIENT AND HELPING OUT WITH YOUR EXP.

OX

thats about it . I have actually done them before then the customer decided to bill there insurance. I didn't even call just faxed an invoice and they paid 1 1/2 week later. That is not the proper way but it worked that time.

Thanks,

If You Fax Them The Invoice, Do They Still Have To Talk To The Customer And Do You Have To Be On Their List Or Do They Just Pay You Based On The Invoice Address?
Thanks, Ox
