Welcome to the business. I'm John and I work out of Roseville. If I can help you out with something, shoot me a pm and I will do my best. Jeff is really great too in Lasalle. He has helped me out with a few tips here and there.

lordstanley13,

Ding King? Are you providing PDR as well as windshield repair? If you are that's a plus!

Is work stable here? I don't think anything in this state is stable to be truthful. Too many people that I know are moving out of this state to secure more profitable jobs elsewhere.

Can you still make money in repair here? Sure you can but don't expect it to happen over night. It's a slow process that only you can work on and achieve results from. The one thing I will tell you is not to lowball everybody else here to obtain work. If you stick to your pricing and provide quality services the business will come to you. If you low price you will find yourself being used and abused and later replaced by somebody else offering cheaper. Not much loyalty in this market with dealer or fleet accounts.

Insurance work may be a little difficult for you to acquire starting out because the market is already saturated with many other vendors for your area but continued persistance and good customer service skills will definately help you.

Also to add, starting a repair business in Sepember in Michigan is not the best time, because when October,November and December hits it's something totally different from what you were trained for in repair. Moisture removal will be something you'll need to master to become successful in providing quality repairs.

Good luck!
