When is UV bounce a good thing?

I'm with screenman on this as I have learned about indirect UV the hard way just inside a garage door while doing a tight small crack.

I found SplitPit's original post pretty interesting. I always try to be prepared, but we all have our bad days. I have had dozens of calls over the years from technicians that dropped their only light and could not move a car into the sun. Yes indirect light will cure resin, but it sounds like using the mirror is faster.

Thanks Brent. In a perfect world, everyone would be prepared for anything and everything. But for most of us, it's not a perfect world!

I had a full schedule following the described incident and did not have time to sit around and wait for indirect uv to SLOWLY cure my resin. Time is $$$

When you can not move the vehicle, bouncing UV is very helpful. Remember you can also columinate the beam by varying the distance of the mirrior from the windshield.

I would prefer not to delete any posts if I can help it. As I told you in a PM, I have had several complaints about you, a few of which came from other forum users that may leave this forum because I don't censor you more. I do the best I can to not let things get out of hand, but also allow some marginal comments. If I deleted everything that I didn't like and everything all of you didn't like, we would have nothing left. If I edit or delete a post that is offensive to a forum member I get criticized for it, and if I don't edit the same post I get criticized for it. Sooooo, I just try to be as fair as I can. For some that is not good enough, but judging by how quickly the forum has grown in the past few months, most accept the fact that I am not perfect. Okay, not even close to perfect.

The reason this forum was started in the first place was because a Delta Kits employee tried to reply to a blatant lie about our products on another forum, but the post was deleted. He tried several more times, but all of his posts were deleted, simply because we did not agree with the moderator, or maybe simply because he worked for Delta Kits. So we started this forum with the hope that with a few basic rules and a little common sense we could have honest and open discussions about anything and everything windshield repair related. This forum thrived and the other one died. Since then there have been several others that have started windshield repair forums. I rarely visit them so I don't know how popular they are or how well they are run, but this one continues to grow.

I'm sorry I can't please everyone, but that is just the way it is. I agree that GlassStarz was out of line, but in my opinion it was not all that bad, and certainly not any worse than the digs you have thrown at others. I sent you a PM because I had hoped you would let it go, but you chose to keep it public, so now I have to bore everyone to death with my lengthy response. If you can walk away from this one all the fuss will die down and some of us will remember your post as a helpful piece of advice. If you cannot let it go the thread will be closed which is too bad as I think most of the feedback was good.

If you want to know why certain members are taking pot shots at you, go back and look at some of your responses to their posts. I think you will find that you took a shot or two at them as well. Maybe it was all in fun, but I can assure you some did not take it that way.

I value your participation on the forum so I really hope you can take the high road on this one.
