Default Advertising.

Seems in the last few days advertising has been popular.

The new techs that want to get it out there. Try this. Really.

The hooking up secretaries workes fine. How about giving your CUSTOMERS something they will remember you by?

COFFEE MUGS. Not travel mugs. Coffee mugs. The cheap ceramic type. The type that stay were you give them. Travel mugs are fun, but have a 20% return on investment. Coffee mugs have a 122% return on investment AND THEY ARE CHEAPER.

You can get 150 custom printed double sided 11 oz coffee mugs for 270 bucks. Heck for 303 bucks you can do it with gift boxes.

Think about it. Give your customer a 15 cent card or pen on a 50 dollar repair or a 2 dollar coffee mug? What one do you think will last longer? What one do ya think will have better value for getting your number out there.

The yellow pages get thrown out every year. Hell I have coffee mugs from 20 years ago.

I know others have great advertising modes. Many of them are top secret to folks. Maybe some will come out with their tactics.

JUST REMEBER. Why would YOUR COMPETITION give you a hint in the most expensive part of running your company. Think about it before you do it.

Labor then advertising.

FUNDRAISERS. They work great. Like the local high school drill team! What can you offer them to make them your sells reps?

Shoot, if you want to give away your profits, why not just give them a coffee maker?

If you already have the customer, let your personality, the quality of your work, the level of your service, etc., be the things they remember you by.
You will easily keep them as your customer without giving them a gift, just by taking care of them in a manner they will remember!

That is a nice thought. The bad thing, it dosn't work in most cases.

Advertising is not giving away profits. Many times it generates profits.

You can do a great job, be the best guy I have ever met. Do you really think I am going to remember your name and phone number in a week?

Some items also wake folks up. A cheap coffee mug on a desk in a office may be all it takes to remind someone of that chip they look at every morning in their glass.

Think about it. Why do you think Coke and Pepsi advertise? BECAUSE IT WORKS.

The manor in which the advertisement was presented has an impact on me. I love to watch commercials on Super Bowl Sunday, but if Billy Hayes comes on advertising Oxey Clean I turn the channel soon as I see him. Can't stand his screaming voice. Quick, Clean, Informative Windshield chip repair advertisements I find work best for me. Coffee cups...good idea!!

From my thread about advertising, this pretty much sums it up:

I have heard many pros and cons regarding advertising in the windshield repair business. Here's some food for thought: There is a guy in our area who specializes in advertising businesses and his commercial goes like this.

You wake up in the morning in your ADVERTISED bed, brush your teeth with your ADVERTISED toothbrush, drive to your business in an ADVERTISED car and work with a kit which in our cases were ADVERTISED by the company we bought them from. The guy complains about ADVERTISING saying it doesn't work, a waste of money. Eventually he goes out of business finally ADVERTISING his business for sale!

See the point?

Cheers,
Scott

I use Stephanie at www.discountmugs.com Mine cost me 303.00 for 150 double printed (print on both sides). Delivered to my home and with gift boxes. It seem the price break is at about 144.

I have ordered from them twice. Never a problem.

I hope to see my next order delivered on the 9th.

I am sure there are many other places that do them as well. These folks have just been the cheapest for me and no hasltes over any art work or anything.

A coffee mug setting on a service advisers desk at a car dealer or rental place seems to work great for me for the price.
