Need opinions on Delta injector, etc.

My tools were stolen recently so it looks like I need some more.
I've been interested in Delta stuff for some time but never absolutely had to have new equipment but..:-) I do now...so I have a quiestion.

I do long cracks as well as chips and for several years now I've not bothered to use a bridge. I just hold the injector with my hand and (run it down the crack or keep it manually positioned over the chip until it's done). I feel that this has given me less gunk to clean up and more speed and flexibility.

So...can this Delta injector be used w/o a bridge.

I've already got a satisfactory source of resin but is anybody using Delta resins for cracks that can give me a report?

Feel free to call. I've got to make a decision on what to buy pretty soon so I don't lose too much time next week getting back in operation.

Also, I don't quiet understand how this "spring activated" feature works in the Delta injector.

I was specifically trying to visualize it in my hand...and how
much dexterity it takes to manipulate it. I haven't been using
a bridge in my technique the last couple of years and I'm used to doing it that way. So I wondered if this injector requires being securely mounted in/on a bridge in order to make it work properly or could it maybe be used by just holding it over the chip. e.g. If I was doing a simple bulls' eye ding, near the edge of the glass, easy to reach.

I can't imagine using an injector without a bridge. I would need at least three hands. One hand to hold the injector to the glass, one hand to put the resin into the injector and make vaccum/pressure cycles, and one more hand for balance, as I am awkwardly leaning over the hood and windshield careful not to put arm against the glass for balance. I might even need a fourth hand to wipe the sweat from by brow on warm days.

All kidding aside, you must have found a way that works for you. And from where I come from, trying new things (even if it doesn't seem like it would work) shows that you have a creative edge that not everyone has, and that creative edge can help you adapt to different situations.

Good Luck with your windshield repair business, and hope you replenish your equipment soon. Someday, the person that stole your equipment will get whats coming to him!

Welcome to the site, I hope your reading hac been educational. Might I suggest Glass Mechanix as an alternative. I have used both in the past, but chose GM for a few reasons. First, With Glass Mechanix, you can pre-load the injector and apply it to the glass like you said in your post(there are times when this is neccessary, like on the vertical curve of an RV WS), but I suggest using the bridge when you can, it doen't require any clean-up, fres your hands fopr other opperations, and allows you to do 2 repairs at once. One other small advantage is that you can do vertical glass without adaptors, the injector is sealed at both ends. For crack repair both work as well. For the resins any of the top companies can supply you with quality resins, they are all good.
