To me, this idea is wholly impractible, how on earth would they be able to police this?. I assume to be able to use this standard an operator would have to register, to receive their unique code. No doubt this would result in some form of standards test with obligatory payments. Obviously I do not operate in the US but if this becomes law, there is a high risk it will be followed in the UK. I am fully behind a method of producing tracibility, particulary in reference to replacement glass but, in its current draft form, this standard would create more problems than cure.

Im totally against this idea, Its just more work and for what?
Time is money. If a windshield has 4 repairs by 4 different companies who is going to prove who's repair was the problem, they could all be in the same general area?. Maybe all four guys would get sued by someone. |

yeah... it would never work, imo. I know I wouldn't do it, and who would do anything about it? When "they" catch me not marking the w/s.. what are "they" going to do to me? Are we looking at 30 days in the clink? lol

I would like to be one of the first to sign up to be a Windshield Repair Cop.
I can't wait to get out there on the street and enforce the law! and punish all these violators of the law! The streets are not safe! We are not safe in our homes! Seriously, this is the most ridiculous drivel I've ever heard, and whoever thought of this over at NGA has got to be rolling all over the floor laughing. And now, to get really serious, the folks at NWRA should either get to the punch line with this, or if by some far stretch, they aren't pulling our legs, they should be very ashamed of themselves for thinking for even a minute that such a thoroughly stupid idea could actually make people want to join the NWRA to prevent this from happening. People, PLEASE, get a life! |

Seems impossible to enforce but never say it can't and won't happen. It seems clear that the OEM's would be driving this. Nothing else adds up. My question is where does this stop ? Maybe anyone who does and type repair (ie brakes and tires) would be the next targets. As a consumer I can see NO value to this at all.
