Default Re: Repair Profit vs Replacement Profit

repair several windshields at a time, or even repair one or more windshields while replacing a windshield. It also takes a lot more time to properly replace a windshield than it does to properly repair a windshield, and the profit margin for repair is much higher in a fixed location. With mobile work the profit margin is affected by several variables. When you add travel time and fuel expenses to a single repair the profit margin shrinks significantly, but with fleets it is often possible to do several repairs in one stop, keeping the profit margin in line with a replacement, or in some cases higher.I happen to think that a fully mobile setup has way less overhead than a fixed location.I don't know about you guys down there but here business liability insurance is pretty high,(there are 3 property liability suits in my small town right now that I know of.Seems everybody wants to fall down on your property and then have there hand out for money because their stupidity is your fault supposedly) never mind taxes, utilities, upkeep, heat, etc.I am starting to wonder if a location iis more of a liabilty than an asset. If I don't offer more than windshield repair I'm dead in the water. So I will compliment with rustproofing, spot repair etc.
