A torch had a place with me, I used it alot, but that was before there was a drystar. I did not heat the break to get chemical in easier. If I wanted to have a warmer break to fill, I heated the shield with the defroster, but the 5 minute repair went out the window, pun intended! Hope that helps. Barry |

It's funny how when you don't agree with someone elses practices you are being negative or are the "village idiot'. Yesterday I strongly voiced my opinion of 5 minute repairs in particular and the fact that I don't agree with Barry's repair tecniques or sales techniques. Since when is a person supposed to accept and be positive about something they don't find acceptable.
Look at you guys whining about me when I've not done anything wrong. Funny thing, a few folks here, including Brent and Screenman, agreed with my point of view on some controversial subjects! I haven't bashed anyone or made personal attacks on any of you. However, GlassStarz, Harold Benjamin, even SGT have wasted no time in jumping on my back and criticizing me because my views and my ways aren't acceptable to you. Those ARE personal attacks and insults directed at me and if anyone needs to be dealt with for their behavior, it's those of you who have come after me. And as far as "trying on shoes" goes or "being the village idiot" goes, well it appears to me that the whining and insults are not coming from me, they are coming from you. |

Glassdoc, I agree with your post. This is a public forum where all can express their views and opinions. You can't expect everyone on here to agree with everything said here. You can't expect everyone on here to agree with every tip and tecnique offered up here. You can't expect everyone to always be right and no one to ever be wrong.
I honestly don't understand why some of you seem to always end up crying "foul" when people don't agree with each other. Like little kids stomping out of the room because they think someone isn't playing fair. I'm taking my toys and going home and I'm not going to play here anymore! Get a grip! I haven't attacked any of you! I haven't personally insulted you. I've tried to keep my posts relevant. So why the vengeance towards me? Some of you have even tried real hard to bait me into an argument, probably in hope that I'll jump way out of line and get banned. It didn't work and it won't work! |

Barry,
Any chance there might be a cordless DryStar model available in the future using either batteries or butane to heat the element? |

Is this before you try to fill it? If the cone doesnt travel to the pit, do you repeat the process until it does? |

You can spin this anyway you like, you know your intentions here. It is not your viewpoint, you are entitled to them just as we all are. It is your delievery needs some polishing. It also seems that quite a few threads you decide to post in end up with a negative under tone even if you have a valid point. There must some truth to this as you been banned in the past. Suggestion: Post your opinions, experiences and thoughts but do it tactfully. We may be able to learn something from you. You seem to be a blunt type so I am sure you can handle me being blunt with you. You now have a choice here, you can come back with a typicall antagonizing response and create more negative posting or you can take this as constructive criticism and move foward.

So what I did for me was plug it in to a rechargable battery pack that I kept handy. That saved time also where the car might be locked and needed to fetch some keys or outlet on car wasnt working, ect. Does that make sence? |

Yes, before I try to fill it because there is no entry point to start with unless the pit can access the cavity. I will repeat the process one more time, if that doesnt do it (rarely does it not work the first time) I pop it with the scribe if I dont see a leg coming off the half moon as I dont want risk spreading it,If it has a leg then I just drill it,I have found these types of legs coming from a half moon that doesnt reach the pit easy to spread,so I dont pop them), if that doesnt do it,I drill with a dental burr over the cavity, but that is rare. If it does become the case I end up with two pits, the impact pit and the drill hole, but it is rare that I dont get it with the drystar on the first attempt or definatly by the second attempt of the drystar. Make sense? Last edited by InventorOfDryStarPatent : 01-27-2008 at 07:34 AM. |

1. Don't accuse me of putting the spin on things. I call it like I see it.
2. My delivery is just that, "my" delivery. God made us all different. 3. Yep. I got banned, mostly the result of crossing the line with an insult towards another. Some of you walk that fine line better than I do. I've vowed to not let anyone taunt me across it again. 3. Calling me "typically antagonizing" is an insult in itself. Don't throw that at me and then respectfully ask me to accept your advice. Yes, I'm more blunt than some of you and perhaps even less blunt than others. If everyone could live and communicate by a higher standard then the world would be a better place but some set the bar higher than others. You may pick and choose your words better than I do, you may present yourself in a more dignified manner, you may be more tactful in your approach, but does that give you a right to criticize me? I think the term for that is being self-righteous. Will I accept it as constructive criticism? Yes, I will. Because even though I think you're a little out of line for expecting me to follow your advice, I know your heart must be in the right place. One word, (Shriner) allows me to give you the benefit of the doubt. |

I never pop a hot windshield, I let her cool down before I do.
Slightly warm is ok, but remember as a rule of thumb, the warmer the glass the easier to spread no matter what im doing to it. |
