So some of you actually discount your repairs to the insurance companies BELOW their standard pay rate?

I haven't but I know of a few glass shops in my area that are at $39.95 and it wouldn't surprise me if others may be even lower. Probably explains why my Allstate, Metlife and State Farm referrals have dropped by 70% from a year ago. I personally would like to see customized offers go away but doubt if that will happen. Wish I had the inside as to what some of my mobile competitors are giving! Can't imagine doing mobile repairs for under $40 when travel time and fuel cost come into play but I'm sure some out there do. |

How do they provide confirmation information for EFT. Is that found on Metryx or do they simply email you when transfers are made? I also wanted to ask if you've experienced an increase in referrals after setting up EFT with Lynx? |

You can get your confirmation either email or fax. It will give you that option.
Or you can do it through the website. I have not seen any change since going EFT. I don't think it will have any bearing on the number of referals you receive. |

I'm no expert on this, but it was my understanding that everyone who offers the capability to submit invoices via EDI to the networks and/or insurance companies has to pay Glaxis a transaction fee because they are all using Glaxis technology. Don't quote me on this, but I believe that representatives from both eDirectGlass and ACT told me that they have to pay these fees, and therefore have no choice but to pass that expense on to their customers.
Splitpit, do you pay any other fees to Quest? The reason I ask is that if they are only charging you $.75 per transaction the information I received is incorrect unless they are including the EDI fee as part of a monthly or annual fee. I would assume Safelite does not charge that fee when you go through their website because they do not use the Glaxis technology. There are so many different ways to submit claims these days I can't keep track of them all. I'm sure many of you are more on top of things than I am, so this thread is very helpful to me as well as to the newbies in the industry. EFT is different than EDI. Usually there is no charge for an EFT payment. In fact, many companies will charge more for a paper check if you opt out of EFT for your deposits. I am only talking about EDI for invoicing. I just want to make that clear as both have been mentioned in this thread.

I pay an annual fee of $50 to Quest.

Did you have to buy the software or does the $50 annual fee cover that?
Is the software for windshield repair only? I'm familiar with Quest, but have not talked to them for awhile and plans are always changing.

Wow! That interesting. My yearly renewal software fee with Quest is $300. Guess I'll be giving them a call to find out why yours is only $50.
