Default Re: Lynx Additional Fee

I use glasscomp to send my LYNX and they charge me 2.25 per repair invoice and no monthly fee... I have been looking to see what it is averaging me and it seems to be cheeper to keep using glasscomp or even look at Datatranz doing paper fax EDI to them at 1.99 per repair invoice and I think no monthly fee also.

Buying the software, the monthly service fee for use of the software, plus the EDI fee. seems higher than just letting someone do it for me.

I know it depends on the volume of work with insurance if it is worth it to me..
I am still looking at the bottom dollar.

I just received notice from LYNX that they may start charging a fee even if you use EDI. Below is quote from Section III of LYNX Participant Agreement as amended March 10, 2008. Supposingly, this does not apply to Allstate of State Farm (at this time).

"5. To meet competitive market conditions at specific Companies, a standard service charge may be deducted from the payment made to Participant as follows:

EDI Submission: 6% of gross invoice (excluding sales taxes); or
Manual or Paper Submission: 6% of gross invoice (excluding sales taxes) plus a $7.50 service fee.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, LYNX Services will at a minimum deduct a standard service charge of $15.00 from each payment made to the Participant. A manual or paper submission shall include all forms of billing not conducted by EDI."

Recieved the same memo. Have not reviewed it completely yet. Wonder if it is a junk fee?

I have not received it. I can hardly believe they would take $15.00 off of ever $50.00 job or is that $15.00 off of ever payment even if it is $300.00

Aw come-on... With all the jobs they send your way, you can afford to drive 30 minutes, do the repair, drive 30 minutes back for ummm $35.00 before they 1099 you on it... LOL Lets see 32% of $35, yep.. You are officially doing $26.57 repairs.. Congrats.. I think I will stick with my $65 cash only policy... Oh, and you may just want to brushup on explaining to the customer what a repair looks like say 2 years down the road.. Just in case you have to drive back out there to look at it because the customer thought it no longer looked as great as it did.. I mean for $26.57, can you afford to go back out and tell them its ok when there is nothing wrong with it..

I received that e-mail today, also. I e-mailed Lynx with my questions tonight. Who are the specific companies? Also, did anyone actually understand all the jibberish in the rest of the Lynx e-mail?
