What's up everyone!! I am considering getting into this business and just gathering info. Thanks to everyone that contributes here! I have read quite a few interesting threads so far, good info!

I have a few questions right off the bat and I am sure some more will follow in threads to come.

1. I am pretty short 5'6", will this put a damper on some of my repairs..you know.... unable to reach the center on big vehicles or fleets? Anybody out there short...is this a issue?

2. What is the shelf life on resin, not that I plan on it staying around that long but if I was to buy a used kit should I just throw out whatever is in it and buy new.

3. How much different is delta's new style injector to the old one? Advantages-Disadvantages..etc.

4. How much research did you do before jumping into this business. I have tried to find competition and it seems no one really advertises unless they do replacement as well. How do I find out who I am competing with?

5. Are fleet accounts pretty loyal or do you find they change us out like underwear. I guess this is a catch22 I would like for them to switch to me and then be loyal...lol.

Anyway I guess that's it for now. Anyone out there live in the Denver area. That's where I want to move to sometime within the next 5 months.

Reese, I moved your post because there are many on this forum that only read the windshield repair forum and ignore the rest.

Since you posted your questions here I assume you are more interested in unbiased opinions so I will allow others to answer most of your questions, but if you have specific questions about Delta Kits products I would ask that you contact us directly. If you don't get some replies soon I will answer all of your questions here on the forum.

Here are some answers to consider:
1. Purchase a medium sized step ladder preferably nonmetalic incase it falls so it doesn't scratch the customers paint.

2. I have been told by different suppliers that as long as the resin is liquid is is ok... Not sure if this is true.

3. I like both

4. I did very little research because I had a contract setup before I bought my equipment.

5. Dealers are usually first come first serve or the cheapest price. Our dealers always want something for nothing.

In regards to getting up to your work, I will use a tire step for the nose blood jobs and a step box to get to some of the ones in the center. The box serves two uses, One got get to the work and theother to store extra and or things that would normaly be take alongs that need to be strored anyway. The step ladder have been used befor but takes up to much room for me.

I do not use Delta so I am no help at all there.

There is a 2 year shelf life on Delta Kits windshield repair resins purchased in 15ml bottles, but we also offer an unconditional money back guarantee to the original purchaser if not completely satisfied, now matter when it was purchased.

Obviously that would not apply if you purchased it used from someone else, but as long as it has not been contaminated, left in the sun, repeatedly exposed to air, etc. it will last for many years. If a windshield repair resin is not the consistency documented for on the spec sheet, or if it is discolored, it is likely contaminated and should be discarded.

Hi,
The ladder issue is something to look at carefully and my advice is buy a plastic one, maybe 1 or 2 step. Cover it with padding on the side that faces the vehicle, also put a kick strip on so that your boots/shoes are not able to touch the vehicle.
You may want a second 3 or 4 step for trucks
The hood protector also becomes an issue as you may find yourself laying across the car, so you need something that hangs down the side of the vehicle. A blanket always works well.

The Delta new style injectors have the advantage that they are more robust (no thin shoulders at the back) and have a wider throat, my miniature funnels now work perfectly.
