Thumbs up Advice Page..

Hi im ne in this business and have just opened my windscreen repair business.. Im from UK , i do roughly between 5-8 repairs per day, but i would like ideas on how to do more,,The way i set up is by putting up a gazebo with FREE STONECHIP REPAIR HERE TODAY banners around it.. i have printed out leaflets and i set up my gazebo on busy supermarket car parks., i have printed out leaflets, and as i walk around the carpark i notice lots of cars with stonechips, and i jus insert my leaflet the windscreen between the wipers, you know what that does help.. does anyone have any other ideas in how to expand profits? Any other services you provide to help costs? i.e dent repairs?, scratch removals?? ..... Please help me with all you valued advice..

Many Thanks!

Which area are you in, the insurance market that you are working is coming to a halt in the UK very shortly with most insurers refusing to pay out to independant traders, although you might already know this. However this just opens the door for more customers who pay upfront. I would say if you are doing 6 to 8 quality repairs a day you are already doing as well as most guys in supermarkets at this time of year. Which equipment are you using? I am happy to talk with anyone doing repairs inthe UK and help them along with my experience. PM me for my number.

Funny I seem to have stopped this post with one answer.

I think what happens sometimes is that all of the answers are here if a person looks for them. Sometimes it becomes a bit redundant to respond.

How do I know it will stop, because the insurance companies in this country do not like harvesting. Unless of course the customers are paying you direct and not claiming back off their insurance companies. The car park owners are getting fed up with people fly pitching, now you may not be one of these but they are making it hard for the genuine guys. Where to when it stops, try the trade and fleet etc.

How do I know these answers, because I talk with insurers most days of the week in my effort to increase the standards of our trade. Did you know most of the guys standing carparks in this country do not dry out and have no comprehension of indirect UV. I am working hard to increase the insurers awareness of poor quality repairs. Perhaps you would tell me what equipment you are using and where you were trained. I see you have not bothered to tell me where you are, do I know you?

There is also very little call for headlight repair in the UK as we do not have the strenght of UV that other area's have. We have most likely done 4 or 5 in the years since they arrived in the UK.

Im from wolverhampton, I have had full training of a friend who also has his own business in this field, I use the DeltaKit, i have used Esprit Kits before but i found them less effective, So im happy with Delta Kits. I use a micro torch to dry out the Resin. I use a magnibond resin and it always gives me exellent results. I find that if you have the right equipment and training you can do a job with full confidence. I will be trying out fleet companys i have approached a few but they already have contracts with the likes of Autoscreens. But i may have to keep trying to approach more fleet services.
Do you still think there is lots of money in this business??
