I don't think the forum has maxed out for the old timers anyways. Lots of great info and people here. Trailblazers no problem down here in the deep south. Explorers either. I would guess maybe glass to hot or cold combined with to much injector pressure whether it be tip pressure or forcing resin into break. But this is just my educated guess since I am here and you are there. Looks like some posters just trying to run up their post numbers to be an experienced glass technician.
Brian-Man I hate to hear about Smiley!!!!! |

Well I am glad to hear that Trailblazers and Explorers are no problem down there. I am not sure what the problem is the me and Trailblazers up here. It just might be the cold temps. But I do take a temp reading on the glass before doing repairs and usually start when it reaches above 50. And I am not heating the glass up fast. The car is running and the heat is on floor or vent. Never defrost.

I have never had to have a vehicle running to heat up or cool down glass. If it is cold take your time and use the correct resin for the repair. Use very little injector tip pressure. I use only Glas Weld injectors so you may have to adjust to what brand you use. If glass is to hot, I turn glass AWAY from Sun, SHADE IF PRESENT, and roll down all windows and open up all doors and in just a very few minutes glass is OK to work on.
Are you working on a curvature of glass? Seems TBalzers are basically a flat piece of glass for the most part. Are the breaks close to an edge? |
